Hy woon aanvanklik op Stellenbosch en sit sy vader se transportryersbesigheid voort tot minstens 1739, waarna hy op die plaas Libertas gaan boer. [1]
Hy besit ook verskeie ander eiendomme, maar verkoop alles op Stellenbosch in 1760 en verhuis na Schotsche Kloof in Kaapstad.
Op die ouderdom van 71 jaar het hy sy laaste testament opgestel. In die testament word hy Johannes genoem. Alhoewel hy sieklik was, was hy nog by sy volle verstand. [1]
Hy bemaak al sy besittings aan sy twee seuns, Johannes Jacobus en Marthinus Hermanus, asook die twee kinders van sy oorlede dogter, Barbara Anna ( volgens die registers het sy drie kinders gehad nl. Johanna Jacoba, Christiaan Johannes en Catharina Johanna. Dit is moontlik dat eersgenoemde vroeg oorlede is aangesien dit nie aangetoon word dat sy getroud was nie). [1]

Le Roux-391 and Le Roe-2 appear to represent the same person because: Same data Le_Roe-2 has the correct spelling as seen on the baptismal record (the more currently used le Roux will be set as current last name and le Roes will be the AKA. Thanks!
